Blue Trail Range offers shooting instruction for adults and juniors 9-16. Our instructors are certified by the NRA, and are competitive shooters themselves. We supply firearms and ammunition for our private instruction, or you may bring your own. We comply with all NRA and CT Firearms Association safety guidelines, and all applicable Connecticut firearms law.
NRA Pistol Certification Class (for men and women)
Taught by NRA-certified instructor and 1982 National Champion David B. Lyman, this class covers familiarization with pistols and calibers; basic safety on the use of pistols; fundamentals of accurate marksmanship; and gun laws pertaining to pistols. We supply the firearms, ammunition, and targets. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive an NRA pistol certificate, which is required when applying for a Connecticut carrying permit.
$185 per person, limited to 30 participants.

Taking a hunting safety course? Going on a cruise and want to learn to shoot clay pigeon first? Our private shotgun instruction is for you. Learn to shoot clay pigeons or brush up your hunting skills one-on-one with the instructor. Half-hour sessions for $65.00. Guns available for loan during the lesson, or you may bring your own. Private rifle instruction is available for $65.00 per half-hour. Sessions are taught by experienced marksmen, many of whom compete nationally.
